Why do you have to persist in running and not interrupt it?

The weather is getting hotter and hotter. Some runners can’t hold on any longer. They think it’s too hot outdoors and even worry about getting tanned, so they stop running.

In fact, I don’t approve of this kind of interruption for running habits, because I have had personal experience. Once I don’t run for a few days, I may not run for a week or two in a row, and then slowly it will evolve into a month or two.

In general, if you don’t run for more than 2 months in a row, it’s basically like “going back to the pre-liberation era overnight”, and you can say goodbye to running.

This is a very headache. When you want to pick up running again, everything has to start all over again.

So you must persist in running, don’t interrupt in the middle!

Why can’t you interrupt? In fact, I think the writer Haruki Murakami said it very well in “What I Think When I Run”. He said:

“Once you stop running for a long time, you will feel very tired when you start running again. Muscles are like animals with good memory. If you don’t give them enough for a few days, they will automatically reduce their tolerance limit and remove the previous memory. If you want to remember it again, you must start from the beginning and repeat the same pattern.”

I think this is very realistic, so if you want your muscles to maintain the ability and endurance accumulated in the early stage, don’t stop running, at least not for too long.

There is a saying in the running circle: the longer you stop running, the longer it takes you to resume running.

This makes you feel like your previous efforts have been wasted, which makes people feel very uncomfortable, because you can only find your former self after experiencing painful training again and then making the same effort.

Stopping running for a week is not a big problem, and you won’t feel any obvious difference;

If you stop running for a month, your physical fitness will decline, your running ability will decline, your maximum oxygen uptake will drop by at least 10%, and your endurance will drop significantly. At this time, you will feel more and more tired when you restart running;

If you stop running for two months, your muscle strength will deteriorate, and your core support will deteriorate rapidly. If you don’t control your appetite at this time, it is extremely easy to gain weight, and your sleep quality will be seriously affected.

Running is such a simple sport. If you work hard and stick to it, you will naturally get rewards. In addition, if people who run frequently suddenly stop running, it will also bring a lot of discomfort to the body, such as psychological emptiness, a decrease in self-confidence, and even obesity.

Of course, except for some special irreversible situations, that is normal, such as injuries or special situations at a certain stage that require you to stop running. At this time, you must pay attention to your physical condition and emotional changes, and try to reduce the interruption time as much as possible.

In fact, there are many ways to run without interruption, especially for some beginners, you must make a good running plan, which will be more targeted.

Another thing is not to run every day. You can do some diversified training, or ask friends to run together. In short, make running interesting, and the rest is persistence.

However, proper rest and physical recovery should not be ignored to avoid excessive fatigue and “running aversion”
